CDCP Project Space opens this summer!

March 27, 2019

CDCP is thrilled to announce our expansion into the Percolate Gallery space in Wilkinsburg this June. Percolate opened in 2013 as a gallery and community space and transitioned under different leadership until current Director Carolyn Pierotti took over in 2016. During her time as Director, Pierotti curated numerous exhibitions, hosted benefits for local non-profits which included Proud Haven, Global Links, and Girls Rock Pittsburgh. Carolyn also offered workshops and artist talks, and in 2018 invited women curators to present exhibitions throughout the year.

“While I have absolutely enjoyed running Percolate, I knew that it was time for a change and I wanted to elevate the space into something more. I’ve been aware of all the amazing work Casey has been doing in the arts community, so it was really a no brainer.  Wilkinsburg is an amazing community and I wanted the space to maintain as an artist/community hub. I’m very excited that Casey has asked me to stay on as a partner and look forward to working with her and CDCP.” —Carolyn Pierotti

“We’re thrilled to continue the legacy of a great community arts space. By transforming Percolate into CDCP Project Space, we’ll build more opportunities and revenue streams for artists in Pittsburgh. This helps CDCP continue to build arts economy and with Carolyn staying on board as a key partner, we are also building a strong network of women artists/administrators/curators in the area.”  —Casey Droege

CDCP Project Space will host experimental exhibitions and programming in line with CDCP’s mission of building arts economy. In addition, Small Mall, also run by CDCP and located on Butler Street in Lawrenceville, will arrange rotating pop-up shops featuring work from local artists. CDCP Project Space is expected to have a soft opening June 29th with an exhibition, entitled Wild Things, created in partnership with woman-owned organization Creative Citizen Studios.
